Temporary suspension of the Approval of New Share Applications from 2 March 2022
On 1 March 2022, the Management Committee of Charing Cross approved the Business Case to advance a Transfer of Engagements to West of Scotland Housing Association. You can access full details of the transfer plans here.
With this, formal tenant consultation on the transfer and the offer to Charing Cross tenants began on 7 March 2022. All communications on the transfer are also being issued to factored owners and shared owner customers, leaseholders, and our existing shareholders.
In approving the Business Case, Charing Cross wants to ensure that it engages with its current shareholders throughout the consultation. If tenants Vote YES in the tenant ballot on the transfer that we hope to hold in May/June 2022, our shareholders will then have an important role to play in delivering the transfer in two Special General Meetings that would then have to take place.
So that we are engaging with an informed group of shareholders, the Management Committee agreed to suspend the approval of new share applications. This suspension took effect from 2 March 2022 until the transfer is delivered. This can be lifted by the management Committee if, for any reason, the transfer did not proceed.
If the transfer does proceed, if you hold an existing £1 share in Charing Cross at the point of transfer, West of Scotland would then issue you a new £1 share membership in West of Scotland Housing Association.
